All students will have the opportunity to improve their drawing abilities; including drawing subjects realistically, in proportion as well as learning to shade and blend. This class will focus on understanding the elements and principles of design. As an introductory class, all projects will be built around the idea of developing students skills and understanding of the art making process. Students will learn about color theory and how it is used in art and advertising, develop their skills with tempera and watercolor pain, and learn about art history and art appreciation.
Advanced Art:
In Advanced Art, students will be in a continuation of the Beginning Art class. Students in this class need to have already taken Beginner Art as this class will be a continuation of developing students skills and will increase their understanding of the art making process. Students will have the chance to build on the knowledge and skills they already have, to take better more purposeful photographs. This class will ask students to think more about what makes a good photo good and how they can have the same success in their own photography. This class will focus on understanding the elements and principles of design. As an introductory class, all photo projects will be built around the idea of developing skills and helping students gain an understanding of the photo taking process.
