The Scappoose School District is seeking applicants for the 2026-27 grades K-12 Physical Education Materials Selection Committee.

Curriculum selection committees are tasked with providing recommendations on instructional resources for the district to adopt. Final decisions on curriculum adoptions are approved by the school board, in accordance with the Oregon Department of Education instructional materials adoption cycle and board policy IIA.

The committee will meet several times during the 2026-27 school year, culminating in a recommendation to the superintendent and a presentation to the school board in the spring.

Committee membership will include:

• Physical Education teachers

• Teaching specialists, including special education, English language development, and additional content teachers

• School administrators

• Parents/guardians

• Students

• Community members

Applications are due Friday, August 21, by 4 p.m.

The initial meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 9:15-10 a.m. All remaining committee meetings are tentatively scheduled at 2:30-4 p.m. on several Wednesdays throughout the school year:

• October 21, 2026

• December 2, 2026

• February 17, 2027

• March 31, 2027
